About This Knowledge Base

This site started its journey as computersciencewiki.org, a popular and widely used resource that served thousands of students and teachers globally. Over time, the need emerged for a more structured, concise, detailed, and navigable resource - thus, this High School Computer Science Knowledge Base was born. Also, the process of updating and upgrading mediawiki is painful and horribly arduous. If you are curious, I use Expression Engine CMS to power this knowledgebase, and I host on Linode, and I seem to know Debian Linux rather well. I use Cloudflare to manage spam and some traffic issues.

A New Chapter

This knowledge base embodies years of classroom experience, feedback, and dedication to teaching computer science effectively. By reorganizing the vast collection of resources into a more concise and structured knowledge base, students and educators can now find the content they need quickly and intuitively.

Why the Change?

The transition from wiki to knowledge base was driven by:

  • Enhanced content clarity and depth
  • Improved navigation and structure
  • Better alignment with IB Computer Science and MYP curricula
  • Easier maintenance and updates

My Vision

My goal is to continually enrich this knowledge base, ensuring it remains a vital, relevant, and authoritative resource. I am comitted to open source and the free distribution of knowledge. I aim to inspire learning, facilitate understanding, and empower both students and teachers in the dynamic world of computer science education.
